News : Application for ‘tuition fees’ waiver from the financially needy students

This is for the information of all the first semester students at this college that the college will invite the applications for ‘tuition fees’ waiver from the financially needy students from 22/01/2021 till 07/02/2021.

All the first semester students whose yearly family income does not exceed Rupees 24,000/. may apply to the OIC with a hand-written application for fees waiver along with a family income statement signed by the competent authorities (BDO, MLA, MP, Local Councillor or Panchayet Pradhan in case residing in village etc.) latest by 7th February 2021.  PDF copies of these documents must be submitted to the HOD’s email of the respective department.

It is to be noted that waiver of the ‘tuition fees’ (Rs. 450 for B.A. Hons stream and Rs. 660 for B.Sc. Hons stream per semester) for each of the eligible students is subject to the approval of the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal. It is further to be noted that if approved, then only the ‘tuition fees’ part of the total ‘college fees’ will be waived but there will not be any refund of the ‘tuition fees’ paid in the previous semester/s. However once approved, the ‘freeship’ of the said amount will continue until one graduates from this college.

 All the eligible students further will have to submit the hard copies of the required documents to the college on a date to be decided later. The students are instructed to visit the official website of the college regularly to stay updated about any further news.
